Default lowering springs with stock struts

Is anyone running this setup and if so what springs did you go with.

I had a set of B&G awhile back and loved the look but it blew the struts every 10,000 miles so I got rid of them.

Since my shocks and struts are still good I would like to lower the pt again but would like to know if I can get away with just going with a different set of springs.

I ran HR on my neon and a set of old school Jamex with stock springs with no issues and was just curious if there is a setup that works with stockers.

Thanks

Jason

I would think any Lowering spring would eventually blow out your stock struts/shocks. Alot of people use tokicos, apparently they are designed for lowered vehicles

Busa is correct, you will eventually bottom out your shocks and bust the seals. Then you'll really have an awful ride. Tokicos are good for lowering your car.

As to the springs, it depends on how far you want to drop it. Me, I used the H&R sport springs. Purchased mine from Germany so I could get them slightly larger (2mm thicker) than the US versions, and also they powder coated them to match my PT.

Here's a couple of pics:

And this is what she looks like lowered:

Also, remember when you drop it to trim down your bump stops by maybe an inch or so.

I ran my Eibach's (1.6"/2.0" F/R)for a few months on stock shocks and struts. It wasn't bad IMO. I wouldn't do it again knowing that wasn't the right way to do it. Save up for the Tokico's. You won't regret it!

Rule of thumb is that can use your stock struts till a 1,6" drop (4 cm), below that you must use shorter struts.

Thanks for the replies. I ran my 98 neon for years with stock struts and lowering springs.
Now I have a full coil over system to help handle the power.
My geo storm is on ST and KYB's. I am just thinking to lower the pt again.
My 04' only has 60,000 miles.

Thanks

Jason.

I thought about doing this but after reading post on here I decided to wait till I have enough cash to get new shocks as well. Not worth the hassle if your car is off the road for a while!
