Default Overhauling 01 Limited suspension and brakes.

Hey guys! I'm planning to upgrade suspension and brakes in late March. I've thrown together a list of major parts, but I've never messed with suspension before. Basicly I need some extra eyes with more experience to look over my list and see what I'm missing down to the nut/bolt. I'd like to replace with new parts if at all possible.

As suggested parts come in, I'll add them to the list so there are no repeats.

Suspension:

Tokico TOHB3195 Front Shocks
Tokico TOHE2950 Rear Shocks
H&R Sport Springs (Avg Low 1.4"F 1.3"R)
ADDCO 1" Front Swaybar
ADDCO 3/4" Rear Swaybar
Freedom Design Strut Bar

Brakes:

StopTech Cryo-SportStop Drilled Rotors
Hawk Performance Ceramic Pads
Russell Brake Lines Kit

Planning on running 18's for the wheels.

Thanks for any help guys.

Your list sounds pretty good, some people do a strut brace, I didn't though.

Why did you addco over eibach? I don't know how it differs from eibach

I don't know how it differs either.. but I have not seen anything bad about them. I was going to use Progressive bars at first.. still might in the long run.

Most all the nationally manufacture or common sway bars for the PT Cruiser are all of equally quality. Each manufacture has similar sizes for street application only. If you plan your suspension upgrade carefully you will get a good working combination. I choose ST for the front and Eibach for the rear myself.

There are NO functional strut bars for the PT Cruiser. The limitations for mounting a functional strut bar is not practical in the PT's stock engine compartment. They are all for cosmetics. The freedom IMO is one of the better looking bars.

Russel brake lines is a good choice but there are cheaper with equal quality.
I would also recommend caliper kits as long as you are going this far with your brakes.

Here is more information about springs for the PT:

@NitroPT - The only caliper kit I've come across is the Willwood Big Brake Kit starting at $630. If you know of any others, that would be great.

While your in there I would also replace all the bushings with poly. I used the complete kit from Energy Suspension but there is also a kit available from Prothane. Along with that I would also change the ball joints and inner and outer tie rods using Moog parts.
