I'm interested in a new Cruiser GT but, I need the safety of a 55 or 60 series tire for some of the roads I drive on. Will the Touring model 16 X 6.5 inch wheels fit (clear disk brake calipers) and have the correct off-set?? If I buy the GT could I then trade them to a new buyer of a touring model if the dealer will not play?? Think anyone would be interested in trading new for new? Ed Hayes

Howdy,
I own a 2003 Touring Edition. I have 7400 miles on my tires, but they've only been on paved roads, and I take care of both the tires and the wheels (the pic will show). I am not sure if whether or not the 16's will fit, but I will trade with you if interested.

erhayes. to the best of my knowledge the 16's won't work on the
GT because of the larger brake calipers.I'm sure someone on this forum will know for sure.

erhayes,
I have a 2003 GT. I am currently using the painted version of the Dream Cruiser 1 wheel (16") on my GT as a winter wheel with snowtires. No clearance problems and no spacers were needed. http://www.revelenterprises.com/pt_c..._prime_853.htm is the link to the chrome version of this wheel. The ad states that it will NOT fit a GT, but the painted version fits just fine. Scott

Front calipers on the GT are 5mm wider than n/a or turbo lite cruisers.
Offset on the OEM 16's won't clear the calipers.

I have a set of the 16" OEM Chrome wheels with a set of Dunlop Graspic snow tires on my 2003 GT right now. I have no spacers and no problems. I had the set of Chrome wheels on my 2001 Touring Ed that I kept when I traded it in for the GT. I put them on the GT before I signed the papers. If they didn't fit I wasn't buying it. Needless to say, boy am I glad they fit. Good luck!
