Default Spare Tire/Wheel Question

...Hello guys, I got one unmounted spare tire/wheel ready for emergency use, but not sure whether I should keep them separate or have them mounted together.

Which ways does the tire last longer?...on.. or off the wheel?

Makes no difference. It's all about time far as the rubber is concerned. UV ray play a part as well.

Garage kepped tho..

This is a wheel I removed from my Cruiser 'cause the chrome was peeling off and the air leaking out. So I got a replacement wheel/tire for it.

I repaired the chrome flaking wheel with sanding, wire brushing, followed by primer/painting, etc. And its now nice and clean ready to use.

The tire is used and about 80% good,..but not sure what to do with it.

..Mount it and store it..
..Keep them separate..

A full size wheel doesn 't fit in the brace for the spare tyre, so there's your answer

Is that for sure. Because I was wondering what do you do if you have a flat with a full car load and no were to put the flat inside the car?

When the LPG tank has been put under my car the brace came off, I 'm shure !
Your wheel should be put into the trunk, there's no other way. If you look at the space for a spare tyre in the bottom of the trunk, it's the same thing. No room to put your flat.

I think the "labels" are tripping people up here. I'm guessing the OP has the regular space saver spare in the basket/rack under the back end. So this is not a "spare" but an "extra" full size wheel and tire.

I suggest they be assembled and inflated so they are ready to use. Then if you have a flat tire on the road you can use the space saver spare to return home and switch to the extra full size. It will last just fine either way, longer than you will ever have the Cruiser.

Oh no..my plan is to keep it as an "extra wheel/tire in the garage, just in case. The donut stays in the car for the road.

Sorry..I guess the title does sound sonfusing..

Somehow I'd missed your response Lol.
That is correct..., guess I'll just go ahead mount it and keep it handy like you say.
Thanks
