Default watts link replacement/alignment

I just replaced the watts link and the 2 bushings on the arms that connect to the watt link. I noticed on the passenger side where the arm mounts to the car that the hole that it bolts into was kind of oval shaped. Does that mean that I need to have an alignment or something done to it to make sure it is lined up all the way?

Hmm... well the mounting hole is worn. The alignment is basically that the arms are adjusted so that they just start to have resistance. You can get very detailed with this alignment for optimum correctness but generally unless you plan on cone chasing or tracking you PT it is not necessary. As for the mounting hole unless you are willing to weld and re-drill all you can really do is secure as per the specified torque. Mark the outside of the arm bolts with a scribe and check it after 500-100 miles for movement. At that time you may reconsider a more appropriate repair.

Curious what Jamestown do you live in?

As nitro said hole is worn. You will most likely be fine If you torque it good. Was probably loose when it elongated the hole in the first place.

Agree.....Either came loose,or if replaced wasn't torqued to specs(not tight enough).......That's why alot of times I've had my vehicles being worked on,and the tech has it on a lift,I like to go have a 'look-see' at the underside(if they allow it,some don't do to insurance/safety requirements).

I agree with the rest of the comments. I don't believe there is an adjustment intended at that hole.

Not related to your question but.....
the back axle shifts a fraction of an inch side to side with the up and down motion of the suspension. Owners who have lowered the body with "drop springs" have commented that the wheels/tires are closer to the fender lip on one side than on the other. That's something else that has been difficult to adjust for.

Only a couple things comes to mind why that is. And neither was done factory!
