Default Suspension crossmember

I just stole a 2002 Dream Cruiser a friend of mine inherited from her grandmother. $2000, 45k mi. Absolutely mint body, paint, and interior. I am not a fan of the gold paint, but thought I could always paint it. So, I jumped a bit too quick to peel off 20 bills.... I was doing the front brakes with a few cocktails and started putting and poking about. This thing hasn't moved much in the past few years, and that doesn't fair well combined with moisture. The result is the suspension cross member is completely rotten. Surprised the motor mount didn't pull through it, let alone both wheels tucking neatly into the wheel wells whilst point to the sky.

So - I am looking at a complete rebuild of the front end. struts, bushings, bearings, links, the works. All the brandie new goodies, I am looking at about $600 in parts. Add an alignment to that. I see junk yard 'members for sale for $1-200, but idk if I would be pleased when I open the box. I can't seem to find any NOS 'members.... Anyone know where I could find one? Does any one have one in the shed they will swear doesn't look like a cheese grater? And does that person live in SE WI?

I welcome your comments.... Thanks in advance!

There's parts manuals here, follow links in my signature.

Mine was totally rotten years ago, and is still driving around- The 'K' member doesn't support engine in any way.

For some reason, they made an extremely thin section behind the main section in 2000 (same or extremely similar part as the Neon). I'm not sure the section that rots is structural-

Sorry, I beg to differ. The lower right motor mount bolts directly to the cross member. In fact, the Chrysler Factory Service Manual even refers to the cross member/K member as an "engine cradle".

Sure. A torque strut attaches to one end of the K-member.

Sounds like such an important part that you should go to that parts manual, get the part number and buy that 'engine cradle' from Chrysler.
