Default SNOW TIRES

1st real world experience with my 'new' 2006 PT with tires having say 60% thread on them; probably all season; 225/55 R16 on the AL (?) rims
NOT quite a 'cork on the ocean' but not as good as my Riviera was.
What is the general consensus on snow tires for Cruisers? Are they floaters on snow and ice regardless the tires used?

I know guys who bought the Bridgestone Blizzak tires and STOPPED ON ICE. I really didn't feel my anti- locks kick in like I experienced driving other cars either; that evaluation will be for another day.

We got 15cm here overnight and my blizzak ws70s cut through in a big way... here in Ontario snows are a must

The Turbo is strong, fast and reliable.. People that don't understand the love of a PT, probably don't deserve to.

6" - 12" here in NEPA; never know what U will get but traffic and plowing this time was exemplary

I just am a bit dismayed on what 'they' are charging for dumb a$$ steel rims; so I can have 2 sets of tires ready to go!!!

$80 a pop!

RIDICULOUS!!!

You might go with 15" rims and narrower tires (base size)

yes and that too requires an expenditure for 4 rims; there aren't many salvage yards here that stock rims that would work for the most part so I would be at the mercy of the robber baron 3rd party manufacturers

I don't mind paying a decent price for ANYTHING but I'll be dammed if my sale will get them to Hawaii for a week!

even if someone here had them for sale; the shipping cost would kill me...

The 5 x 100 nut distance is the same as VW Golf 4's, Bora's and New Beetle gen I. So should be easy to find.

Concerning snow tyres: On the PT I 've got Michelin A4 195/65 15 on alu's and they are amazing. Difference is like day and night !

On my other car I bought Nokian WR3 tyres cause they have a good rep in Europe and they are assymetric. I'm a complete fan of assymetric cause they can be changed on each corner to get even wear.
Still got to wait and feel how they will do in snow.
