Default RIMS

I might be considered whining now...but does ANYONE have a comprehensive listing of what rims form other Chrysler products will fit a PT Cruiser

AT present I have the P225/55 R 16 tires with the factory AL(?) rims

I expect to get dedicated snows and run 'regular' tires during the summer months but need another set of rims for winter skins.

I LOATHE paying $80+ from a third party just for winter rims !!!
I am SURE the salvage yards are FULL of vehicles with rims crying for me to buy them.

Where I live; a tire and rim combo is $25; $30 if the rim is something other than steel; there is NO QUALIFIER how good the thread is; or if there is ANY to speak of. A far cry from $80 a pop plus shipping!!!

I apologize if this is a 'duplicate' post; please be gentle...

Neon's, Audi TT, VW Beetle/Jetta/Golf all have the 5x100 bolt pattern.

A drill press, welder, wheel adapters,JB Weld and rattle can paint and just abut anything out there will fit.

A joke=story with humerus ending.

YAY!!!

kctobyjoe

how do these vehicles handle the offsets. I am a bit familiar with the concept; ran GNM and Ford most of my life and they had different offsets to deal with

Assume Chrysler products and the aforementioned are different ?!?!?

I really don't know...

Any suspension change should be considered or account for how they will react as a total package and assuming all other variables are looked at. The condition of the suspension and or any changes to the suspension like aftermarket springs.etc etc.... What this all means is no one can give you an authoritative response for your personal PT. You become the guinea pig or lab rat to do something different on your PT and then tell us what you experience. It is easy to find wheels that will work for the bolt pattern and the offset needed but how well is not an easy answer.

Look at what Rocketman did for wheels on his PT.

Where you may run into issues is the hub bore. Make sure it matches the PT hub bore of 57.1 for a proper fit.

This isn't very consoling; first off the grief pulling 4 rims at 'the yard' then MAYBE finding they don't fit; I wish there were a better answer...

All I intend to go is get 4 that fit a regular winter tire at the same designation my 'originals' do...maybe the guys at the tire place can steer me right; they are the ones who cautioned me on the condition of the lugs as existing on my rims. I DID buy 20 chrome lug nuts so I care NOT what happens to the clunker chrome covered steel originals; they are going in the scrap heap. Ill use my equalizer pipe and a 1/2" breaker bar at a perfect right angle with a 6 point metric socket to remove the buggers!!! HOPEFULLY no torch; concerned about the integrity of the rims; I have a MAPP gas setup; it's the best...saved my a$$ a few times!!!

Sorry most members are Looking to get cosmetically appealing wheels for their Cruisers.
I would stay with a PT Cruiser rim for what you want to do. I am sure that there is a auto recycle or craigslist listing for them.
I did a shopping for a winter set of rims and picked up a set of steelies from an early NA that I am in the process of stripping, painting and installing some mud and snow tires on for this winter day drive up into the snow. Last year we could not do this for fear of having to into some area requiring chains.
