Default What brand are your shocks and struts?

Most experts recommend replacing shocks and struts every 50,000 miles. Tokico appears to be OEM for this vehicle.

What brand of shocks and struts do you have? Do you like them? How many miles were on the original shocks when you replaced them?

I'm probably going to get the Monroe Sensa Tracs but I'd like to see how people like other brands.

I currently have the OEM shocks and struts. I plan on replacing mine at 100,000 miles.

Cool Re: What brand are your shocks and struts?

I've used Monroe replacement shocks on all but one of my vehicles....I had a '76 El Camino that I used Gabriel 'Gas-Riders' on the front, and Gabriel 'Air-Riders'(air shocks) on the rear, and they blew out the 1st time I carried a 1/2 ton of bricks home!

I recently went through strut replacement. If you get the Monroe, when you open the box the rubber boot will be down and the top of the piston rod will be showing. This is probably different from any website pic you have seen and this looks wrong because you want everything to be covered in the wheel well. They don't tell you this in any instructions, so I returned the ones that I had purchased and I went with Gabriel. But I was later advised from Monroe that the boot is their new design and you simply have to pull the rubber boot to the top to fully cover the piston. Struts, expecially units complete with new springs, are really easy to replace on the PT, takes about 20 minutes per side, you just have to get an alignment afterwards.

In the box:

At this time stock struts and shocks with the odometer at 54,000 miles.

I thought you did not know what your rear springs were? (custom application)Do they have the H&R letters and there numbers on them? If not then you do not know what you have?

If you do I can tell you exactly what H&R they are! (specifications)

I wouldn't have needed Monroe to tell me that...

Well if they can put them in the box, then I think that they can pull the boot to the top of the piston. I, like most normal consumers, would expect the product to be the same as the advertisement!
