Default Wheel Bearing Size??

Ok my car is a 2001 PT Cruiser Limited Edition 2.4 N/A, Is there anyway to tell what size the bearings are without pulling them? I have purchased the bearings on ebay to get thrown this question. I don't want to get the wrong ones. Thanks in advance

a 2001 has the 33mm bearings. all other years are 39mm.

i'd pass on buying them online though, just in case your car was made late in the year after the switch was made. that's just a funky year to try to guess on. you'd be better off asking for a refund. if it were 2002 or later, the answer would be 39 for sure. your car should take the narrower 33mm, but there's always that chance...

i put the skinny ones on my 2002 because the parts store didn't ask and just picked one. i didnt notice until i heard a grinding about a mile down the road. it isn't a fun job to do twice.
Busted_PT and RedLimited like this.

i got the 2723 bulbs randy recommended.

Instrument panel bulbs

after having crappy dash lighting for so long, i found the bright light annoying and distracting, so i turned the brightness down with the dimmer switch. i don't need to see the speedometer to know that i'm speeding (:

If you do a quick search of the RockAuto online parts catalog you will find that there are two different widths for the bearing (Which you know) , dependent on manufacture date of the vehicle. They are to 08/09/2001 for 33mm and from 08/10/2001 for 39mm.

Good luck and happy cruising!!!!
