Default Wheel offset range to fit 2002 Cruiser

Hi
On my stock base 2002 cruiser, will a 16" with an offset of 55 mm work on my Cruiser. If not what is the max recommended offset.

Thanks

Don

I searched, and this is what I found:
"Most after-market wheels fitted to the Cruiser run offsets between 35-40mm."

I believe the stock offset is 38mm, but I didn't double-check that.

Hi,

Thanks QSD, Yeh, I found the same numbers. I was hoping that someone out there in the "real world" would give me some higher number like the 55 mm I mentioned on my first post. The wheels I am considering are off a 2004 Subaru WRX. They are a very good price for my budget right now.

Thanks for the post

Don

I don't think they will work. From what I can find they have a smaller bore size then the PT Cruiser. From what I found the Subaru has a bore size of 56.1 and the PT Cruiser has a bore size of 57.1.

Basically 55mm will move the rim inward more and that can always be corrected with a spacer if necessary. As far as fitting it really depends on how wide of a rim it is. Looks like that rim is 16x6.5 which will give you a backspace of 5.35 which will fit. Another thing you have to look at is whether or not it will clear the calipers (spacers will also fix this problem)

Hi,

Thanks everyone for the input. Based on your comments, I have decided to keep looking and keep the offset to between 35 and 42mm. I really dont want to go the spacer route.

Thanks,

Don
