Default Best wet weather tire

My tires are 6 years old, and have got hard. Today on a drying road I nearly torque steered into the car next to me pulling away from the lights and I was not flooring it. Suggestions please on a good all weather tire for Florida. I only drive 2000 miles a year and at 76 the tires will probably last longer than me, so price is a consideration.
Thanks

my company truck runs on Cooper Discoverer AT tires and I was impressed on it's stability and handling on wet roads/rains......even my SUVs Pirelli Scorpion ATRs wouldn't match....

The Goodyear Eagle GT's I got a few months ago seem to do a great job on wet roads.

Consider this as a "third recommendation" for Coopers. Mine have about 10,000 miles on them and look like new.

Tire loyalties are like politics or religion - I'd say go to Tire Rack and read their reviews.
They have a huge selection.

Thanks for the help guys. I have ordered a set of the Coopers, $420 installed, including balancing, taxes, dumping etc. They are now being replaced by C5s, had a job to get the C4s. No doubt the C5s are improved, but I have seen too many "improved" items I get paranoid.

That's about what mine cost. I'll check the sidewall tomorrow when I get out to go to church and see what type they are.

And I agree with Cruiserdad.
