Default The Handy Rear Disc Brake Upgrade

Yep.

It's time to take the plunge and install disc brakes on the rear of 2001 PT Limited. Why? Because race car. Why else?

Behold, a complete rear axle from a 2002 PT. And so, the journey begins. More updates coming.

details only details. If the brake bias is not effected to much it should be ok.
We will see. Besides I have idea's if it does effect anything.

I do not think anything will put the "brakes" on this project?

I don't have anti-lock brakes. So electronics will not likely be the issue. And since I got the entire axle with all hoses and cables, everything should be plug and play.

If there is a problem, it will likely be the original proportioning valve not providing enough pressure to the rear disc to make them useful. If this is an issue, I will likely try a different proportioning valve from a similar salvage Chrysler that has rear disc breaks but no anti-lock.

I will keep everyone updated. The next step will be cleaning and detailing the "new" axle prior to installation. I'm thinking red calipers, and yellow sway bar and coils.

Yes but if you went a few more pages you would have seen only RED!
Besides if the colors were not changed I would have to hear Danny calling my ride PT Claus.

Does the donor pt have this valve as a separate peace? Love this project. No issue about the antilocks. Has no affect on normal operation. That setup won't know it was ever there or not.
