Default Tire size on rims

I have an 03 GT Turbo and I have switched out the original rims from the 17's to OEM 16's from another PT. The chart I found on here states this about tire size for the 16" rims:
205/55-16 24.9 ---- 5.5-7.5"
225/50-16 24.9 ---- 6-8"
Can I put 225/60-16's on?
It would be very helpful if I could as I'm having difficulty finding those tire sizes at a reasonable price. Thanks!

It's not just the price you have to worry about. The GT came with bigger calipers so make sure the wheels fit before buying new tires. The difference is the offset. The front brake caliper is bigger on the turbo and would interfere with the wheel.

Not much room between the inside edge of the tire and strut with my 205-55-/R16. I don't think I could go up one size.
