Default skinniest tire on 7'' rims

Hello, I would like to know what is the skinniest tire I can put on a 16x7 steel rim for my cruiser. Those wheels are for my winter tires. Im thinking buying a new set of tire maybe 195/60 r16 or 205/55r16. Currently I have 225/50r16 on them and I don't like them in the snow it is too wide and worn out.

Why not get the 15" steel rims, the stock tire on those is 195, I think.

You sure they are 16"? The stock steel rims w/hubcaps were 15".

I believe the stock 16" wheels are 6" wide, not 7". 195/60-16 is about the right size for your snow tires. Anything taller will probably rub on the front struts.

Okay, I missed that.

A 195 will work on a 7" wheel, as well as a 205. You mentioned that your present snow tires are worn out. That's probably most of your problem. Getting fresh snows with good tread depth should fix you right up.
