Default Low pt cruisers

I've been looking through the project threads but can't seem to find anybody who has been brave enough to really slam their cruiser. Have there been any really low examples? Found a beautiful example through google of where I'd like mine to be but just wondering why nobody else has done it yet

Plenty of owners have slammed their cruisers. The best way is with air-bags instead of lowering with springs and shocks/struts so the PT can be raised for riding around town. Otherwise you'd be scraping the bottom on everything.

One of the best known on this forum was a user named Candyman. He ran into some health problems and is no longer on the forum.

keep in mind if you go more than 1.75 on the suspension lowering it you will negatively change the steering geometry.

That one does sit nice, is that on air? Air kits in the UK are very expensive so my only realistic option was coilovers. I know that the suspension geometry will be out but that's an easy fix in my opinion

Air kits aren't cheap in the US, either. Yes, the dream cruiser shown is on airbags.

The Dream Cruiser is more than just on air bags. The complete frame was custom modified with a air lift system. You may check his build thread and see what was done.

It was professionally built over a period of about a month or 2 as I recall and several thousand dollars in parts. The labor was done mostly with a friend or business pardner?

It is a really good read and plenty of pictures. The owner stated a few times that to lower down was mostly for parking lots and car shows not for normal driving.

Nice, I shall check the build thread for inspiration. I'm hoping I can transfer the ideas the vag boys have over here by using ball joint extensions and flipping or making a taller track rod end to get the suspension geo back to a reasonable state

I have been working on one but if you look it is not as easy as a spacer with the PT's ball joint configuration.

Nice to see a "thinker" of advanced mods in the group!
