Angry Clicking from rear under heavy braking.

I'm new here so sorry if this is in the wrong place.
I have a 07 PT that has a loud clicking coming from the rear under heavy braking. I have put new drums, shoes and hard wear back there. I was thinking that maybe it's the hubs. I do know in the last year the gas mileage has gone down to now 10 mpg!!! The beaks are not hanging up and there is no Bering hum.

Is your engine light on? If so what are the engine trouble codes?
Did you adjust the brake drums after installing them?

You also might want to check your hubcap. If its loose it might be making the clicking sounds.

If you're getting 10mpg it sounds like you have a bigger issue than a clicking noise. I average 21 with a very heavy foot.

Did you already jack it up to try to shake, twist, and yank on things back there?

I suggest you might have something like a vacuum leak in your brake booster or at the hoses going to the brake booster effecting your gas mileage and its making the leak detection pump in the back to start clicking or something might be making the leak detection pump to start clicking. With that low gas mileage I am surprised you are not getting the engine light.

Sounds like what Im getting on mine but it only happens on tight left hand curves, no problems with hub bearings or cv joints. I agree check for vac leaks and it might be due for a tune up.

There is no vac leak. This car is maintained to a T! Oil changed every 2,500 new spark plugs and wires, PVC, coolant flush, trans filter every year.
It has been to the dealer for this and they told me "we have no clue what's going on. Drive it. It runs and drives real good other then the noise"

The 10 mpg started when the noise started.
