Smile Energy Suspension SHOCK Bushings

I *believe* this is the right section to ask...sry if I am mistaken

Does ANYONE have the Energy Suspension polyurethane PART Numbers for the REAR shock bushings as a replacement? Rubber might last long but I PREFER the more controlled ride of never-breaking-down polyurethane

Thanks for the help

joe

Might Google there site. Just for your info. I haven't had the bushing on a shock fail. Just changed some oem pt shocks with 175k and the bushing was unhurt. also you won't feel any difference in the ride on this application.

FYI the use of polyurethane bushings all shock manufacture will disallow all the warranty of their product even if you replace with a standard rubber bushing. Many companies will sell you replacement bushing for their own product but generally it is because the warranty is already no longer valid.

There is NO real advantage to using harder bushings in that area of any shock anyway.

Just thought I would post this info in case anyone was interested?

Rear shocks are cheap - if the bushing is gone, chances are the shock should be replaced.

I am aware of the warranty taking a sh*t. AMAZON is still stocking the KYB shock/strutc combo for under $200, I have NEVER had a poly bushing fail but sure as sh*t rubber ones crack; then noise; then loss of control; loss of alignment is possible...etc etc etc

I don't need to just want to ;-)

Thanks

Cool if you just want to. But the only thing on your list that were accurate was the crack, takes about 10 years for that. Noise from the previous. All other symptoms not applicable or possible. Just for others that
may be reading this. Nothing wrong with the op wanting to do it either. Just making sure no one gets to thinking that a shock gromet would have any catastrophic affect on our pt if it was to go bad.

Almost all of Autozone's shocks and struts for the PT Cruiser have a "limited" lifetime warranty. And Autozone sells the compatible energy bushings too online. That includes the "pretty red" ones.

http://www.autozone.com/suspension-s...mString=search

While many things will officially void that "limited" lifetime warranty, a warn out shock showing up at the store with no bushing will not stop the friendly counter folks from giving you a free replacement. I've done this several times with various cars simply because the bushing was gone. Thus in effect, using the energy bushings does not impact the warranty if you buy at Autozone and don't return it with the energy bushing. Of course, there's nothing that prevents you from buying more energy bushings when you get your replacement shock. So it's all good and Autozone appreciates the extra sales.

They carry KYB too. And they have cool red shock boots to go with your shock choice if you like that kind of thing.
