The thread title should have been CAMBER WEAR PROBLEMS. Because that is what you have here. Has nothing to do with lowering. Candymans sat on the rocker panels and his did not run any camber settings outside of stock parameters.

ISRAHD, did you use the CAMBER KIT that is made for the PT when you lower it? Mine has been lowered for 14 years. The very first mod i did to the car and I've gone through 2 sets of tires without a problem. I do rotate, as best I can, all the tires every other oil change.

The PT Cruisers suspension can only be lowered 1.75 maximum and even at that you have exceed SAFE workable suspension.
IMHO unless this is going to be a show car only and will not be driven on the streets you should NOT go beyond the the design and workable limits of the stock suspension. Even if you could correct the rear alignment there is nothing available to correct the steering geometry lowering beyond 1.5 inches. IMO talking about lowering a PT without consideration of suspension limits with someone that clearly operates the vehicle on the street to extremes without these considerations is NO different than talking about STREET RACING. Both are DANGEROUS and are technically illegal to do in most all the US states. Why? Well to do either you not only place yourself driving it and a badly altered and unsafe vehicle in danger but others as well that are not even in the vehicle. The picture of the tire posted in this thread is a perfect example of how lowering a vehicle incorrectly can badly effect tire wear, braking and steering. The suspension is changed to the point that the tire can not hold traction well enough to steer as well braking is greatly diminished. ![]()
