Default A knocking Sound and Strong Front End Shake

I've had this problem for roughly two years now. And in the past two years, I have experienced a strong shaking in the front end right passenger side of my PT Cruiser. I have a strong shake and vibration when I exceed speeds of 55 mph and above, but it will level off at 80 mph, but as the speed drops the shaking grows violent. Recently, I have experienced a deep knocking sound when I'm only going speeds of 30 mph, or when I'm just inching forward a few feet, this knock persists when I'm turning right.

During this time I have changed the tie rods, cv joints (twice), axles, new tires, bushings (though those were two years ago) brakes, rotors, and ball joints, and struts. I'm currently at wits end with this vehicle.

Year model is a 2007, and has 108,589 miles on it.

The shaking sounds like a bad tire, but you've replaced them...so...
Have you checked the rim..?? Move the passenger side tire to the drivers side to see if shake follows.

Was inner tie rods done? Recheck all components as if nothing had been done. Especially sense the new noise has come in. Make sure everything is tight and no play in the hub at 12 and 6 or 3 and 9.

I know I had the outer tie rod done on Tuesday of this week. Honestly, I can't remember if I have had the inner.

Or front-to-rear if tires are directional...

I feel your frustration! I have the 55 to 80 shake as well in my 2008 with 125.000 miles. I too am getting tired of my PT lately. I think I an going to look into replacing the axles next.

I have figured out what is causing the knocking. I have extremely worn bushing on the passenger side. However, the vibration is still there. Can a worn bushing cause that problem as well?

Seems to be a bad tire or a curved wheels. If I were in your shoe, I'll have the wheels and tire balance checked.

Only guess I can come up with:

Wheel alignment. If the shady shop screwed up the alignment, the tires' toe might be way off and at speeds above 25mph they'd start to "fight" each other, (vibration) and at higher speeds you're just burning up one or both tires which could be the cause of the cupping.

Just a guess, the tires would have to be WAY out for that, it seems like an interesting conundrum.
