Default question about oem 16x6 rims

I just picked up a set of the chrome 16x6 rims for my 03 base PT to replace the stock 15" ers that it came with. I need to get tires for these which are going to be used as summer rims only. My question is: what is the max width that will fit this rim? Tire rack says that an optional tire combo was 225/50/16 for the fronts and 245/45/16 in the rear. I got this number from them by selecting 03 pt cruiser and then selecting on the rim size towards the bottom of the page. Now 245/45's seems like alot for a rim width of 6", but if that would fit, I'm sure it would be cool. Anyone have any ideas?

I would stick to the 225/50/R16.
Mine came with the chrome rims with all 225/50/16 tires.

225 is the max you can go on a 6" rim.
245 you can use as a hoola hoop.
Go the same all around, i'd prolly go 205 or 215 for a comfortable fit.
