Calling on all wheel experts!!!

So I'm looking at a great deal on a set of chrome 18x7 wheels, but the catch is that they are on a different lug pattern. To use these wheels I would obviously require a wheel adapter. Of course this leads to offset issues. The wheels are at +42 and the Fred at wheeladapter.com said he could mfg. a set of adapters to 25mm thickness. So for those of you with a good understanding of the technical points, would these wheels work? While I could get an outstanding deal on the wheel/tire combo (about a 1/4 normal price), if the setup doesn't work then it doesn't matter what deal I can get. Thanks for any help you guys (or gals) can give.

What's the lug pattern?
The PT is 5x100mm
You can account for offset, but you really can't change pattern unless you change the hub or drill out the wheels to match the PT lug pattern.

I talked to some wheel guys in the past and they all strongly suggested that you dont ride around on adapters. They said those really were for shows and whatnot. But whatever you want to do. Personally, I would just look for a different rim if the right pattern wasnt availiable

I have to agree. You might make them fit but I don't want ride down the highway on something 25 mm thick.

If you search the internet there are plenty of good deals on brand new wheels.

25mm is too thick your tires will stick out of the fenders and rub when you turn. there are so many wheel choices available dont use adapters they are not worth risking your ride.

I would definately go to your local tire wheel shop and search through there catalogs for a wheel that will fit and that will also meed your asthetic requirements as well. I would suggest anywhere from +38-+45mm offsets. I'm running 19x8's with a +42mm offset. The one thing that you don't want is a 3/4"wheel adapter snaping of on the freeway. Good Luck Kevin

Also agree. Even for free wheels, it isn't a good idea.
