Default Wheel spacers

So i was fitting my new wheels, bought ones which required no alterations to the car, however, it seems the back ones are fine but the front ones caught on the calliper.

The calliper on the front sticks right out and so I havent the clearance.

Any idea what spacers I should be getting?

I got it that my wheels are 5x100 spacing, but there seems to be all sorts out there on the net.

is it close enough you can just grind the caliper a little?

it's not uncommon, and after a coat of paint you'd never know.

It's a few mm, horrible sound due to my foolish error. Resprayed the front wheels again.

Reluctant to use spacers as i fear it would set the wheel beyond the fender which means i get pulled over by the coppers.

Saw loads online different mm thickness etc but none mention the diameter.

You need to use 5mm spacers. Assuming that the wheels are 16" diameter or larger, they should not foul the caliper.

I have 20mm spacers with 6.5 inch wide wheels and they sit at least an inch inside the wheel arch. At the rear I have 30mm spacers and they sit flush with the bodywork.

How much yours stick out depends on the width of your wheels, assuming that they have positive offset.
