I have a roar in the right front of my 03. it gets louder the faster I go. when i turn right it gets quieter, and when i turn left it gets louder. I replaced the right front bearing and nothing changed. swapped front and back tires and it got a little quieter but not much. checked the camber the best i could and both fronts seem to have a slight but equal negative camber. any suggestions.

I experienced the exact same noise and made an incorrect diagnosis. I correctly diagnosed it as the wheel bearing, but found it to be the opposite side of what I "thought" the noise was coming. Hard left turns increased the roaring noise coming from the right wheel bearing. I've replaced that particular bearing 3 times in the matter of 10-15k miles. Next go round (which it needs to be replaced as we speak), will be from the factory and not aftermarket.

Change The other wheel bearing. That will fix it. When I replace these. I add grease between the two inner races of the bearing. Have to use your fingers to work it into the crack. But I belove this give me a better lasting bearing. I think that they might not have as much as they should. Maybe that is why some have repeated replacement. Will have to see over time.

Hey Rob Thanks.
So you suggest changing the Left wheel bearing then. That fixed it on yours? I thought that if I turned Left it would cause more outer pressure on right whell so that is why I changed the right bearing. |
