Default Could 215/55/16 tires work on my 16x6 stock rims?

ok heres the deal i can get 4 nearly brand new Summer tires high performance falken tires for around 100 from some one i know, but they are 215/55/16 and i have 205/55/16 currently with my all season tires, so how badly would it affect the ride and height of the car etc.

Thanks.

Dan

[:I]Sorry, no answer here. Just expanding the question to include
215/60/16 (if there is such an animal) on stock chrome-clad wheels.[:I]

Well, my PT and my Bug both have 16x6 rims. The bug came with 205x55 and I put on 225x55s last week and they are fine, so i would think the same would go for my PT. In fact when it needs tires i am going to go with 225s.

Rallyd is right, they will be a tad taller. When changing tire size, what affects the speedo/odometer and all that is the tire diameter. stock is set for about 24.8inches rive or take 3%. When you change to the 215/55 from the 205/55 you'll gain about .4 inches of width and .37inches of ride height. Its a good deal but it will be a tick slower, how noticable I goodn't say. I just bought new tires for my 03 and got ride of the 195/65/15's for a set of 225/50/16 and new rims. best part was that the overall diameter between a 195/65/15 and a 225/50/16 is the same, so there was no loss, just a lot more grip!

The difference is slight. Will be a tad taller, will slow you down a tad, improve ride a tad - I'd go for it for that price.

The price is right I would go for it.the little wider tire will
help the look of your Cruiser also. IMHO
