new wheels and tires

ok so i had my new 17s put on yesterday 17*6 wheels and 215-50-17 tires now at about 60 mph the wheel shakes whats the deal re balance ?

Here are a few possibilities to consider.....

Hopefully, it's just a balance issue that can be fixed by a simple addition / adjustment of wheel weights.
If you bought the wheels used, check them carefully for dings and trueness. I've even seen rims whose center has been tweaked out-of-round, and that's very hard to repair.
If the tires are new, you cold still have a bad tire that no amount of balancing can remediate. If the tires are used, they may have some damaged internal cords which could make them have a 'bump' in one spot and needs to be replaced.

ok could be a few things and yes, balancing is one of them but before you do that check to make sure that the retainer washer has been removed from the wheel stud. It is used during production to hold the rotor on until the caliper is installed. Removing it will allow the wheel to sit flat against the hub flange. Next, how does the wheel fit around the hub? Are you using hubcentric adapters. If you are centering the wheel solely by the lug nuts you may get a shimmy from that. If all else fails balance again.

Hubcentric ? I don't think the PT is hubcentric is it ?

Yes, the wheels are hubcentric.
