Default Chrome wheels?

If you have the chrome wheels and they are peeling is there any hope of cleaning them up and painting them? We just purchased a Dream 1 and when I had the tires replaced they won't hold air. The guy at the tire store feels the issue is the peeling chrome. He did clean them up for me but wasn't confident they were 100%.

If the peeling is were the tire bead goes ( lip of rim) . Clean with wire wheel till peeling chrome or rust is gone and lip is smooth use bead seal and reseat tire. Any tire shop will be able to do this ( any knowledgeable shop that is) . Happy cruising.

Forgot to add make sure to clean valve stem hole and bead seal valve stem then add air check bead and stem with soapy water. Happy cruising.

Ive been fighting this for a couple weeks...
A knowledgeable shop (or DIY) can grind the offending flaking off of the bead and apply this.
My local shop took 3 days to apply a coat, dry 24 hrs, then apply another coat or 2 with drying cycles.

Sorry, thunderstorm is impeding my ability to upload my image. This may take a couple minuets... lol
