Default R&R broken front wheel stud

Can this be done in the driveway or are special tools required? My wheels are 17" mags and I need to replace one broken stud.

Thanks.

You can do it in the drive way. Remove the wheel and the brake rotor, then use a sharp pointed punch with a hammer to knock it out the back. Put the new one in but don't try to hammer it in place. Instead, it will normally pull into place easily when tightening the lug nut. However, if it doesn't, don't over-tighten the lug nut. That may bust the wheel. Always use a torque wrench when tightening lugs on mag wheels.

Look at the knuckle before you start pounding. IIRC there is a cut out where the stud will fit out... Meaning you may need to look at the back while using common sense to see that there is room for the stud to slide out. If you skip this step you may end up with the stud wedged between the hub and the knuckle. So look, think, and rotate the hub so you have clearance behind before you start pounding

I would change all 5 if it were my car. They're cheap and easy
