Default 2 inch wheel spacers ?

Hello , This what I am trying to do . I have pick up some F1R wheels offset +38 width 8.5 and the hub bore is 73.1 . My stock wheel are 7 inches in width , So could I run a 2 inch spacer hub still at 5.7 for GT PT 05? I am not sure if this would work . Thank you for thoughts and thank for your time My PT brotherins.

Maybe he just added the total for all four wheels came up with 2 inch. And you know depending on if you were taught old or "new" math?
(2 inches) / 4 = 0.5 inches converted to mm =12.7 mm rounded down to the nearest actual wheel spacer and that is 12mm or 0.472441 per wheel. That would be just perfect for safety and increase some suspension trickery!

i ran 1 1/2 inch spacers on a 17 x 7.5 with +40 offset and no problems.. they stuck out just a lil bit.. i imagine a 8.5 might rub a touch but not sure.. and btw youll need one of those hub rings to bring the wheel hub bore down to 57

YUP! EXACTLY!

I must have at least 6-10 sets all different sizes. In fact I recently order 2 sets of 73.1 x 56.1. One set in plastic and the other in aluminum. The aluminum are so close tolerance I can't use them in the wheel with out a close shave on them. Like the .1 .

lmao what.. the wheel is not gonna break.. if anything you put added stress on the wheel bearing and ball joints.. since they suck stock i highly doubt the wheel itself is gonna break before other wearable items..

I would like to see where you are get empirical data or technical information that show that PT Cruisers wheel bearings ...."SUCK!

As for if a wheel will break or not ..... sad but
Well lets hope that you are not one that needs to experience a wheel breaking to understand that, yes they will break and much easier then most think. I personal have broken a Royal Epsilon, a single one of these is more then the average member on this forum paid for his PT Cruiser and a Lenso also a very high quality made wheel.

Sure technically you could space a wheel out a foot if done correctly.

But I suppose I needed so be clear for some DIY that would rather dismiss the notion of unsafe nature uses a 2 inch spacer on a PT Cruiser. So rather then go into endless debates from members why the PT Cruiser is not well suitable for a 2 inch spacer on the designed chassis and suspension lets just talk about the average spacer available.

Many people will buy cheap wheel spacers that are universal in design and not hub centric.

Almost no wheel spacer suppliers brag about or use quality wheel studs. Usually building a better cookie cut wheel spacer means to first buy a very good quality made hub centric wheel spacer specifically for your vehicle and then buy separately a bolt with a very high shear strength to install in place of the ones in the wheel spacer you purchased as high quality. Try to find the stud specification or ask a wheel spacer supplier that question about the stud used technical info and see what the answer is. Or hey better look at it with bug magnifying glass. LOL

So basically when that wheel spacer of high quality breaks it will generally take out the wheel as well. So while technically the wheel itself did not break because of spacing out from the hub the wheel spacer did killed the wheel !

Going to any Road Track frequently enough you will see in season a wheel breaking and usually it is because of the use of spacers.
