Default Anyone ever get a tire warrantied?

Another tire warranty denial. Square tire. "Nothing wrong" Fed up, paid for a new tire outright. Not going to shake for the next three years. Fixed. " Do you want to buy an extended warranty?"

Years ago I had a bulging PU bias ply tire denied. Clerk claimed it was a trailer tire despite the letters LT molded right in the sidewall. Couldn't convince them. "Want a new tire?"

There's too many excuses for denial for anyone to pay for an additional warranty. Anyone ever get a tire warrantied?

Been getting my tires at Discount Tires for years. Never had an issue with warranty replacement with them

I guess it depends on the warranty.

I've always had Goodyear tires on my PT and have always purchased their Road Hazard Warranty.

They've replace a couple under warranty, the last time for a mesquite tree thorn stuck in the sidewall from a road trip I did out to west Texas. The thorn was still stuck into the inner sidewall when I took it to them for the tire leaking air. Mesquite thorns can be tough as nails!

Cool Re: Anyone ever get a tire warrantied?

Sorry to hear of your bad luck on this.

Several years ago when I had the current set of tires installed on the PT, one of them was out of round. This was found during balancing with road force. Tire Rack sent out a new one without any issues and they also sent a call tag for the bad tire.

How does that work? Does the machine have a rotating drum or something?

I never get the warranty. My tires always rot out before they go bad. Because of members on this forum I now buy my tires that are only 6 months old or less. Hope my tires last longer than 70,000 miles before rotting out.

Red face Re: Anyone ever get a tire warrantied?

I try to always get the Road Hazard Warranty if I can.
Especially from TireRack.com.
Once, I did not, because I knew I would not own the car very long.

To me the biggest hazard is something big and sharp in the roadway cutting the tire, or damaging the sidewall, making it repairable.

The only bad outcomeI had with TireRack was 2 years ago, when I was starting a 1,200 mile trip, and cut a tire just 50 miles into the trip.
The smaller town that I was near, did not have a perfect match.
And when I called TireRack after the trip; I was supposed to have saved the tire for inspection by them.

Duh! When I called the shop that replaced it, they had just sent all their bad tires for recycling!

Last year had a tire issue with Sears but no problems. Gave me a fair adjustment.

My tires don't last long enough to need a warranty.

How do you end up with a warrantied trailer tire on a car? Did the place not sell/install it?
