Default Swapping 15" and 16" wheels?

My old PT is dying and I'm shopping for a new one, but the one I've got my eye on has really worn out tires. I figured I'd just take the tires off my old PT, since they're Pirellis and only a year old, but I just found out that the new car has 16" wheels and the old car has 15"ones. What are the odds that I can swap the smaller wheels to the new car for a couple years till I get a full life out of the tires?

Also, if I kinda want to buy new wheels down the road, what options can I get? I'm hearing 17"and 20" might fit? Big wheels sound fun.

It won't be a problem. Up till 2006 17" were an option (except GT)..in 2007 all PT's got 17".

The wheels will fit but being 1" narrower in diameter the 15" might rotate more in a given distance than the original 16" effecting speedometer reading,
unless your roll out with tire diameter is the same. Easy enough to check.

If the diameter or "roll out" is the same, the speedo will not be affected. I replaced the 14" wheels and tires on my Ranchero with 17". The speedo reads the same because the tire diameter is the same.

I have 2 PTs. The '02 Limited with 205/55x16 and the '05 Touring with 195/65x15. According to my tire chart, these two tire and wheel combinations turn the same revolutions per mile. So yes, the 16" can work fine without speedometer errors.
