PTchickie, can you make the photo a bit bigger? I can't quite make out the shirt color on the mountain climber.

Opie, as someone has stated. You need to submerge them in water. But, just putting in what I know about your type of rims( I deal with high brand rims quite often) are. I would say you have metal valve stems correct( not metal sleeves over rubber stems)? Those metal stems bolt to the wheel. They are threaded, you stick them through the wheel & tighten them down with a nut. They also have 2 rubber washers on both sides of the rim. These rubber washers are known to go bad quite often & rather fast. They are a pain in the "you know what".

If someone put the tires on improperly they can hit the stem & it will flex causing the washers to either crush & rip or could completly remove them. That would be obvious because the stem would flex.

Also IF you have the rubber stems on there. That could also be the problem, as these types of rims do not fair well with rubber stems.

My Base 04 came with 16's and my wife's 04 Touring came with 17. I'm not going any bigger because I have heard from some that the ride is just not as good with bigger wheels. Others say they're great. I don't like the look that much to take a chance and not like the ride. Actually would like to get Smoothies, but don't have the money for that right now either. I've taken both on some long drives (900 miles) with the stock wheels, and so far I'm happy with them. 12K miles on the Base model.

HI OPIE

From my experience with these tires, they are very tricky to mount to the rim. one mistake could tear the bead which is how it seals to the rim. i had some mounted and it went flat over night.

but i do have some stock GT wheels with tires for sale BUD
