Okay I've had my car for a year now and just noticed a couple of months back that the chrome was peeling from behind the spokes. I got the extended warranty when I bought the car. Will that make DC get me new wheels? [:I] I guess I should my local Chrysler dealer to be sure, but I wanted to hear what you guys thought.

Many PT owners have had problems with the chrome peeling on their wheels. Most that have still been under the factory warranty have been able to get their dealer to replace the wheels that were peeling regardless of whether they had extended warranties.

You might get the dealer to replace your wheels but don't hold your breath. I have had allot of experience with chrome wheels and most have peeled or rusted after a couple of years OEM or aftermarket. In our part of the country the only way I have found to keep chrome wheels perfect is to have 2 sets of wheels. The crap they put on the roads will destroy the finish on just about any wheel. My chromes never see ice or snow.

Yes, my rims were pitted, and peeling after about one year, daily driver, and the rims were washed and polished with wheel polish as well. They still pitted and peeled. However, my dealer was OK with getting them replaced under warrantee. The new ones are starting to pit as well now. They are going to get re-tyred as winter rims, and some 18" rims are going on with summer rubber soon.

I'll probably do that as well. My stock wheels and tire for winter, and buy some new wheels and tires for summer driving. I got until next year to save up. [?]
