Do you have rear discs or drums? If drums, then you need to remove the brake drum and see if some of the brake hardware has failed. Could possibly be a spring is weak and letting a shoe shift when you hit it hard. If the drum looks okay, get some new shoes AND all new hardware. A hardware kit doesn't cost that much and neither do shoes. Replace BOTH sides at the same time. Don't half-ass it like some folks do. You need to also look at the wheel cylinder and make sure it's not leaking. If so, replace BOTH side wheel cylinders. If ones weak, then the other isn't far behind. Oh, and welcome to the forum.
