01-03 Rear Wiper Grommet (5152332AA)

I’m not having any luck finding a rear wiper grommet for my 01 (5152332AA). It’s been discontinued on all the parts websites I’ve been on. eBay’s a bust. I even checked a bunch of cars at the salvage yard and they were in worse shape than mine.

I also tried the updated version for the 04+, and while it fits when the plastic cover is removed, there is a fairly significant gap exposed at the motor shaft. It just seems like another leak path.

Any ideas?

When I was customizing my Panel Cruiser, and my Dodge Challenger, I found general grommets to fit on-line for several areas I needed.

All you have to do is have the correct measurements, including the center hole.
I can't remember the particular web site I used.
But, there were plenty of sources on the web.

I do believe that on one of the grommets, I used the Dremmel to slightly enlarge the center hole.
Worked out great.

I also tried searching on the predecessor part number 05027551aa and found one in stock, but they wanted $20 shipping.

I guess the cruiser part is also common with chrysler mini-vans of a similar vintage. I did find a post on a minivan forum talking about using a grommet from a newer Jeep (68290445AA) and only needing to modify it by cutting the neck off. That part is much cheaper and much more available. I might just have to give that a try next. Otherwise, I'll probably end up going the generic route.

Feeling your pains here.
3 years ago, I tired of this futility & ended-up turning an ersatz, custom replacement unit from some surplus Delrin (R) bar stock that was lying-around the shop & have never looked back: it fits/functions just fine & looks OK - just lacks the factory characters!

5152332AA is long out-of-print, & any NOS inventory has likely dried-up.
Thus, the 2004-up (5020577AA) is now likely the next-best "donor" part to cobble-up & force-fit onto the 2001 platform.

There were some 54861177 (Ap: 2004-on) at PartsGeek & others about 1 year ago, but they've since disappeared. Plus, their shipping was a GUGE.

Thanks for sharing your information. I ended up tracking down 5152332AA at a dealership in a small town in northern Michigan. I was able to have a relative stop by and pick it up and mail it to me to save some $$. I just need to get it installed now.

In case anyone else happens to be searching for this, here's pictures of the 2001 wiper motor with and without the plastic sleeve around the shaft and what the 2004 grommet looks like on a 2001 motor.
