Default BURGALR ALARM FOR NEW PT

Well, I FINALLY understand what all the excitement about this car is. (I picked up mine yesterday--the wait to have it built with all the extras I wanted on it was only 4 weeks from order to delivery) Wow! The car (black and chrome) is
stunning to look at. The drive from the dealer was about 40 miles and the PT rides really comfortable.

Question: I want to put a better alarm put on it..anybody have any trouble doing that? Is it simple to override the factory alarm ? Be happy for any advice.

I did mine with a DEI piece with remote start and 2-way. Nice alarm but the keyless entry part is a big pain. You can NOT take out the old alarm. If you never did one before then have in installed by the place you get it from. If you would like to try it go to this site there is a lot of 12 volt help. www.the12volt.com . Goto the Forum and search PT Cruiser. Good Luck and WELCOME.

Welcome, Maestro. If you mean by overriding the factory alarm, is it easy to defeat? There are several threads that say YES. It apparently only will keep out amateurs.

Thanks guys for your listening ear. quicksilverdon your right. Nation is great they were very nice and the problem will be taken care of. Again that's for all your input I really like my PT it's to nice of a car to have flaws like the bumper thing. I look foward to dressig it up a bit. In time. Thanks again keep up the good work.[^]
