Default Slight whining while turning the steering wheel

'04 DC3

I noticed that at very low speeds (I'm talking pulling into a driveway at 3mph) I can hear a low whining when I turning the wheel. I don't hear it all the time and it's not that loud. It sounds kinda like a squeaky door opening. It's not the wheels whining on the pavement (my 1st impression) and the steering wheel is as easy to turn as it's always been.
Any ideas??
Thanks.

Do a search on power steering. There's a TSB for a different hose, and replacing Power steering fluid w/Auto trans fluid (honest!).

If it sounds like it's coming from the steering column, then I had that exact same sound when mine was only a few months old.

I think there were even threads on this board about it. (I think someone had taken their car back to the dealer and had steering work done.)

Anyway, mine seems to have gone away by itself, so I haven't done anything to it.

Good Luck, and keep us posted.
