Default Probably Selling GT-Advice Requested

Due to my personal situation, I will probably be selling my '03 GT. (I'm looking to buy the new Dodge Magnum R/T, so staying in the Chrysler family.) I'm looking for advice on whether to do some mods that I already have in the pipeline, or whether I should leave it as is.

Presently, it only has minor mods - manual boost controller, boost gauge in A-pillar pod, BTG strut tower brace, silencers out of the stock airbox and K&N filter in, APC Gen2 lights with LED bulb, and the MGW GT shift knob.

On the shelf waiting to go in are Stage 1 turbo upgrade, MOPAR BOV, Crane wires, and BTG springs. (I was considering buying Adam's intake system, but haven't ordered that yet.)

Any opinion about whether it'd make any difference in selling price or ease of sale more mod'd or less mod'd?

BTW, per my sig, you will see that I also drive a high hp RX-7. The Magnum will be my dog-hauler (as is my PT) and tow vehicle for the RX-7. I know, sell the RX-7 and keep the PT. Sorry, not for me.

Thanks

What happened to the 2 responses that were here before, including the one where I mentioned that the Stage 1 PCM you have is tied to your VIN and therefore can't be used on another vehicle?

SELF EDIT: Uh, yeah, I see now.....they're in the same post on the Turbo section. Stupid me. Go about your business now, and don't all laugh at me at once![xx(]

That was in the GT forum. I was thinking that the non-GT owners may have other opinions. [:I]

Generally, the more mods you have the more limited your buying market is going to be. You will rarely, if ever, get your money out of mods. Adding more at this point is probably not wise. However, as Mike already mentioned, the Stage kit is already programmed to your VIN. However, giving someone else the option of installing it or not installing it might make more sense. Some folks may not be red hot on the no warranty, not for use on pollution control equipped vehicles issues.

If you find someone that want all the mods, they might want to install those extras themselves. I certainly would not be ordering new mods for a vehicle I was about to sell unless I had a buyer that had already indicated that they would pay extra to have the additional mods.

Understood, but the ordering happened before the deciding. No smart, I know, but that's where I am right now. Thanks for the comments.

I whole-heartedly agree with MichaelDay, the vast majority of PT owners are not performance oriented especially if it means voiding their warranty.

I'm a HP nut and have been for many years. I've found it harder to sell modified vehicles over stock no matter what brand of car it is.

Agree with Michael Day.
Sell car as stock as possible. You won't get any more for add-ons. Sell the add-ons separately on e-bay or here.

I agree with everybody else. Mods actually detract from the value of any car. An example is a custom paint job that you might love but another buyer might hate really limits your buyers. Take it back as close to stock and sell what you can.IMHO the stage One kit if installed could cost you allot more than what the kit cost.
