2004 Total Car Recall PT Cruiser

Just bought a 2004 Cruiser in Feb and received a call last night informing me that Chrysler is replacing my car with a new one because when it was shipped over on the barge it was in Hurricane like conditions and it's possible that salt water may have sprayed on the car and may cause premature rusting. Has anyone else gone through this?

I would be very wary that something else is up, In my 20 year association with Chrysler I never saw them replace the whole car unless lawers were involved. IMHO I would make sure whats going on and I would demand some legal papers before I would let them have my car.

Shipped over from where? Aren't all PT's made in the Mexico Plant? Last I checked the Rio Grande River wasn't flowing with Salt Water... Sounds like a hoax to me.

Humm, I don't think so. What about cars shiped to Hawaii,Europe,Exct. sounds like some one is pulling your leg. I don't think DC would call on that. Not a very funny joke.

Sounds fishy since they are shipped by rail from Mexico.
