Default water on the driveway?

I got home and a little while later noticed a puddle of water under my car. This is scareing me a bit since I got it back from the repair shop about three weeks ago.. I rearended someone and had to replace the radiator, air conditioner condenser, and assorted things in that vincinity. The water is clear, clear clear so I am thinking it's not radiator fluid since that looks redish in the overflow tank. (would it look clear on the cement?)and it's probably not freon ... cause that's like green right? this has no odor and it's got drips coming from that big plastic black looking box thing next to the passenger side wheel.. if your looking up from under the front end of the car.

anyone got any ideas what this might be? I hate to have to take it back, this would be the third time!!!!!!!!!!!! I ran the air conditioner today, but I have been doing that everyday.. I live in California.

Probably just water from the air conditioning evaporator core drain tube. Just a suggestion, turn the fan on high (A/C off) a few minutes before you stop to prevent any mold/mildew from growing in there. It will help dry up that area. Adding the cabin air filter also helps prevent mold and mildew (that awful A/C rotten egg smell) from forming or their spores getting on your core from the outside and any dust/leaves/etc from getting in there (mice too). People tend to mistakenly add the cabin filter AFTER they start smelling odors from the A/C. It's too late at that time.

Thanks Sci Fi for the fast reply.....[8)] and saving me "face" with the auto shop. [)]I didn't see a "drain tube" but what else could it be? It's weird, I never noticed water leakage before. I wonder... will turning the fan on high... clear out the drain tube before I park it? I don't like my NEW car leaving puddles of anything anywhere.

I have never heard of the "cabin filter" either. [:I] I'm just a lady who likes her cruiser... I am no mechanical brainiac.. bet you could tell that though... []

A drain tube is pretty much standard stuff. Moisture/ice collects/forms on the evaporator core and when there's enough built up or when it melts, the water has to go somewhere. The condensation drain tube is located on the right side dash panel under the hood (have to lift/raise the car up to get to it).

From the service manual:

Quote:
quote:CONDENSATION DRAIN TUBE

DESCRIPTION

Condensation that accumulates in the evaporator
housing is drained by a tube through the dash and
on to the ground. This tube must be kept open to
prevent condensate water from collecting in the bottom
of the housing.

The tapered end of the drain tube is designed to
keep contaminants from entering the heater A/C unit
housing. If the tube is pinched or blocked, condensate
cannot drain, causing water to back up and spill into
the passenger compartment. It is normal to see condensate
drainage below the vehicle. If the tube is
damaged, it should be replaced.
The "Cabin Air Filter" part #82206886 can be seen here, but don't buy it from eBay. The asking price is too high and you have to pay for shipping too. Just view the photos to see what it looks like and where it is installed (right side under the cowl and behind the windshield washer fluid container):
http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eB...category=46094

The actual price you pay for the cabin air filter from the dealer is anywhere from $13.95 to $16.00 and installation doesn't take that long. Just ask the dealer to install it. At minimum, you can enjoy/breathe cleaner air inside your car, esp if you have allergies or suffer from spring fever.
