Default What do you think of my paint idea?

I want to get a grill the factory one upper on ebay or somewhere for cheap and the lower piece if i can manage to get a cover for it. Then i want to paint in White and i want to paint my center bezel on the car white to match , around the cd player etc. and then paint the nobs on the vents patriot blue to match and the window switch panel patriot blue as well, and if that turns out well then a white center console. as well and maybe a blue suede shift boot. and cover the fabric inserts on the doors with blue suede to match.

The main idea is to be able to do the paint job and be able to reverse it if i want to sell the car at some time for a new one.

I also have some plans for White 18's to match it all.

Just a thought, what do you think?

IT's a patriot blue '02 tinted dark black. I'm just ansy to try something different.

So just the grilles painted white? Nothing tied into the hood at all? I can kind picture what you're saying. I think on the interior it'd be fine but having just the grilles white is going to look a little off unless you can tie it into a larger body panel somehow.

I think it'll make the grille stand out - altho the chrome would look good, too. When I got my E&G grille, I offered my silver grille to a fellow PTer that had a dark green - I think a silver grille on that would've looked sharp, be he declined.
Good idea, but I think chrome for the grille would look better.

I think that if you were planning to have the grill a different color than the body you would need some way to seperate the grill from the body sonce it flows together so much. Maybe some chorme trim (like the make for the edge of doors) to help seperate the stock grill a bit. Also I think you would have to paint the lower grill that is part of the bumper to make it look good.

Are you going to have sometype of white graphics on the body to help tie it together?

i was thinking like flames drawn back towards the rear of the hood .

but now i went from a cheap mod to expensive

and thats not feasible for a poor college student paying for a car and his wqay through school.
