Thanks for posting. Been seeing lotsa folks with new PTs with plug problems. Are they still Champions? Anyone know how the problem arose? And gap in MM, not inches? [:I]

[:I]What about those of us that payed to have our plugs replaced - any comment on that

I believe that 1.016mm comes out to be in the neighborhood of 0.0395 to 0.040
There will be someone here who will know exactly. Either way, it appears to be alot lower then the original of 0.050

Damn I just changed mine last night to .45. Went with the Champion Double Platinums, and 8.5mm Magnecor wires. Maybe I shoud've gapped them at .40 instead.

It seems to run better though.

How can you check for the bulletin?

bstrips79 19 May 2004 01:01 pm

ask your dealer service department to look at there bulletin they get for recalls...ect they will know which ones...as of the ppl that payed I would go to the dealer and demand a refund it is their faults...Id call asap...[?]

Well what I got and used they wouldn't have told me to get. I want to know if I should re gap my plugs or not.

King, do you have any issues with the way the GT runs @ .045 gap ?
Mine are gapped @ .042 and runs real strong. If you're happy and sure that the GT is running good, I'd run it for a while. If you're unsatisfied, re gap the plugs. Even @ .042 (like mine) it is still .002 wide, but I'm not changin it cause it runs well. Judging the way your car runs is alot like judging how your stereo sounds. No matter what the specs of the equipment that you use, you need to trust your ears as to how it sounds. Many factors are involved. The same goes with judging how your GT runs. No matter what the gap spec is, if it runs good @ .045 there is no need to change it. I closed mine to .042 because @ 15lbs second stage boost (higher boost at lower RPM too)the spark was intermittently being blown out. Narrowing the gap .003 to .042 remedied any issues w/high boost.

Gear Head if I was running a GT I probably would have already done this. Im sorry but mine is a N/A. I originally was told that .45 was good for the N/A engine but really was tested yet.

What did it do when the spark would blow out?
