Default is time on my side?

The clock in my radio (2002 PT) does not keep correct time. It gains about 2 minutes a week. Doesen't sound like much, but do the math.
Any others with this problem? Any info appreciated. thanks!!

...just thought I'd mention...
Are you testing this against THE SAME time piece each week?
Are you sure it's not the other time piece that's loosing time?

The clock in my '01 keeps perfect time, but the one in my wife's'02 is just like yours - gains a couple of minutes a week.

A while ago this came up on another forum - apparently no adjustment. Mine gains time, too. A minor annoyance, but unacceptable when a $10 watch can keep perfect time.

On a similar note, I bought an alarm clock that somehow gets a time feed - plug it in, it sets itself, corrects for daylight savings, is on time after a power outage, etc... [:I]

Not sure about the PT gaining time but,

"I bought an alarm clock that somehow gets a time feed - plug it in, it sets itself"

quicksilverdon, that sounds like an atomic clock, from howstuffworks.com

"The big difference between a standard clock in your home and an atomic clock is that the oscillation in an atomic clock is between the nucleus of an atom and the surrounding electrons. This oscillation is not exactly a parallel to the balance wheel and hairspring of a clockwork watch, but the fact is that both use oscillations to keep track of passing time. The oscillation frequencies within the atom are determined by the mass of the nucleus and the gravity and electrostatic "spring" between the positive charge on the nucleus and the electron cloud surrounding it."

Yeh, what he said.

Same here, about a minute a month. Very annoying because resetting it means going all the way around... holding the minute set button while it sweeps forward 59 clicks, and overshooting and having to do it again.

I need it accurate so I can jump between the 3 local radio stations that give traffic reports every 10 minutes: 'ones, fives and eights'.

I'm guessing that the Mopar radios were never expected to go a month without losing power due to the battery being disconnect for major repair work.

And where do you find a 10$ watch that keeps perfect time?
My 10$ watch gains 2 seconds/month, which makes it 30 times more accurate than a Mopar radio.

Dealer says it's covered under 3 year warranty so I have an appointment to get it looked at next week. My concern is if they swap radios, will my center dash pod ever be the same? How hard is it to swap radios?

I am not sure if it matters enough to me to take it in for repair. I don't like to be without my Cruiser! But it is nice to know it is covered under the warranty. Maybe I will mention it when I take my PT in for the air conditioner smell? [:I]
