Your car is really looking GREAT! [^] Only one suggestion: Consider replacing your stock plastic silver shift knob with something like a Momo that makes some sharp ones in Inferno Red. [8D] [?] It not only will look nicer but think you will find your shifts will be quicker and more precise. I speak from experience--03GT 5-speed. Just my two cents. [8]

BTW, is it my eyes or does your car look just a little "off center" since you [B)] reinstalled the stock springs? [)]

Dosen't seem to shine much. Maybe you need a new detailing guy. Just kidding, it looks great. Did you buy the tailights like that or did you do that yourself? If so how did you do it. I'd like to do that to mine.

Gary, do you have a link for the shifter? You're kidding about it shifting better right? If I changned it I would stay with silver I think though. Dream2, for the lights, all I did was go to a craft store and buy stained glass paint, sanded the lens and applied a couple of coats. If that sounds to easy, thats becuase it was. gary

I got my MOMO shift knob from Neuspeed.com. They carry a complete selection of knobs. It's mind boggling!

Here is a link for MOMO products: http://www.sportsimportsltd.com/momoshiftknobs1.html You should be able to find some your local speciality/speed shop to see which type you like best. And, YES, for me at least I do believe a larger shifter ball type knob enhanced my shifting ability--your mileage may vary. One of the reasons I switched from my GT 5-speed to the 04GT Autostick when I got my 04GT was because of this problem: http://www.ptcruiserlinks.com/forum/...?TOPIC_ID=8231

For me at least, I believe replacing the stock shifter knob helped slightly in compensating for this "design problem", but, I'm not sure. [:I] Still, no regrets in making the change. These knobs are made in Italy, are of the highest-quality, and LOOK AND FEEL so much better than the inexpensive plasic [V] stock knob.

This is the type of MOMO shift knob I had on my Inferno Red GT......MOMO Race Shift Knob in Perforated Leahter & Aluminum.

MOMO Shift Knobs just might be considered a "performance upgrade" as they seem to make your car go faster because [u]THEY LOOK FAST</u>!!! [)] [8D] [8)]

Here is a picture of my MOMO shift knob. [8D] [^] Good luck. [8]

Yup, the stock shift knob on my '02 TE and my '04 GT simply popped off with a strong, steady pull. No yanking, no hammering, no heating, etc. The MOMO is a universal fit and took about 5 minutes to install. It's held on by 3 allen head set screws that hide under the screw-on collar under the shift knob. It's a very simple, yet elegant, design.

The stock shift knob on the GT is not threaded or glued. It has a "D-ring and clip" configeration. Took mine off in just a few minutes--wrap the knob in a towel, place a cresent wrench under the ball, tap firmly but gently with a hammer on the wrench which forces the knob upwards--the knob should "pop off" without damage to it or the shifter rod--MINE DID! This is much easier than installing lowering springs [:0] [xx(] [B)] on your GT and you will be MUCH HAPPIER with the end results! [8D] [?]
