I was at a car show tonight and me and this guy got to talking. To make a long story short I might end up getting a new short-block for my Malibu. If things did go through, it wouldn't be for a couple of weeks, but this popped into my mind and I want to know.
Anyways, could a Pt Cruiser haul a engine in it's rear (seats removed)? Engine is probally 300-400lbs, it's just a Short-Block. I have a friend with a truck, and my dad has 2 conversion vans, but I was just wondering if my little Pt Cruiser would be up to the job ![]() |

The PT is designed to hold adults in the back plus cargo. It will haul an engine no problem.

Cargo carrying capacity of the PT is a little under 900 lbs. Your weight + the engine should not be a problem.

My only concern would be damage to the floor make sure you've got a lot of padding. Maybe a sheet of plywood.

About time someone got around to sticking a small-block v8 into a PT.

I guess you haven't seen this one yet:
![]() Note where the driver is sitting, and imagine the size of the engine. I also figure it's rear wheel drive, otherwise, a wheely bar wouldn't be needed. Quote:
