Default Could my Cruiser Haul a Engine?

I was at a car show tonight and me and this guy got to talking. To make a long story short I might end up getting a new short-block for my Malibu. If things did go through, it wouldn't be for a couple of weeks, but this popped into my mind and I want to know.

Anyways, could a Pt Cruiser haul a engine in it's rear (seats removed)? Engine is probally 300-400lbs, it's just a Short-Block.

I have a friend with a truck, and my dad has 2 conversion vans, but I was just wondering if my little Pt Cruiser would be up to the job

The PT is designed to hold adults in the back plus cargo. It will haul an engine no problem.

Cargo carrying capacity of the PT is a little under 900 lbs. Your weight + the engine should not be a problem.

My only concern would be damage to the floor make sure you've got a lot of padding. Maybe a sheet of plywood.

Agreed. Maybe a plywood box to keep engine from moving and to protect interior. Weight is less than a full load of passengers.

About time someone got around to sticking a small-block v8 into a PT.

I guess you haven't seen this one yet:

Note where the driver is sitting, and imagine the size of the engine. I also figure it's rear wheel drive, otherwise, a wheely bar wouldn't be needed.
