Default nasty plastic Trim

Ok I have some questions. I am sure we all go through this, but the black rubber trim on my windows is just crappy Its all faded, and nothing works. I think Black Magic just made it worse. My only other option is to :
1. Find a cleaner that gets rid of the buildup and brings back the black.
2. just buy new trim.

Any suggestions?
Also, noticed that my weatherstripping around my rear window on the liftgate is beginning to slowly come off...any suggestions for that?

Jmack, just happened to find this post. what year is your car? DON'T EVER USE BLACK TO BACK ON YOUR WINDOW RUBBER TRIM. It is meant for exterior porous rubber. The window trim will get dried out like you said. use a water based dressing to bring it back. use some soap and water to clean it prior to using the dressing. go to my web site for more info. Gary

Thanks Gary, my car is a 2001 LE. The weatherstripping along the top of the rear gate window is coming off. I have tried every glue under the sun and nothing will keep it there. The seal isnt bad, it just looks like it got hot in the sun and popped off the corner. It still fits, but I think the fit is too tight to hold it in.

Gary, I tried to find something on your site for the trim. Am I looking in the wrong place? Also, you say water based, would this be listed on the products label? Im lost.
