Default too good to be true or am i crazy?

OK,

Am i crazy or doing the math wrong? PT has a 15 gallon tank, Wife and I took a trip from CO to NM this past weekend. I filled up the tank @ 3.89 a gallon where I live. We drive 329.1 miles till we fill up again (with about a little less than 1/4 tank) with 11.2 gallons. If I am doing the math correctly that's 329.1 miles / 11.2 gallons = 29.38 MPG??!! Do I need to do better drugs or is it to good to be true!!?? this was all hwy mileage, fill up and 5th gear @ 65mph average all the way. Any input?

Cheers!

Fab, I got 28 MPG once. I have a 2003 Limited with automatic trans. I got this mileage because I did not use the A/C. Ordinarily, I do, but the weather didn't require it.

Don't want to burst your bubble, but mileage on one tank tells you nothing. Your next tank will give lousy mileage. You need to average over at least 3 tanks before you have a good picture of mileage, or 1,000 miles or more. There is a huge variation in when gas pumps click off.

The best I got from my 2003 Limited with automatic trans is 25mpg. On average, I got 21mpg.

It is possible...last long trip I got 25.5 mpg on the highway, but I was doing 85-95mph.

We just took a round trip of about 175 miles each way and got similar mileage, but Quicksilverdon is right - you need to check it over a period of time and several fillups - lots of variations between pump shutoff times, for one thing.
