E-85 is about 15-20% less efficient than gas-
Here, it's $1.20 gallon CHEAPER than 87 oct gas.

It also produces slightly more power, and enables you to run very high compression ratios- Giving more power yet.

For turbos, there's no comparison!

People can, and do drink ethanol. If the tanker tips over, the worms just get drunk.

What is the octane rating of e85?

e-85 is well over 100-

I've run 11.7 (or so) Compression ratio during 95f without a fan- It just won't ping!

Alcohol also cools more than gasoline, so this helps fight detonation.

Of note is the power alcohol adds- It has a molecule of oxygen (why it's used as an oxygenate in gasolines) so all being equal you gain low single digits power.

I like mine enough that she is at the PT Hospital, getting an engine change! Found 2 broken motor mounts during the process. AND I like mine enough that I am dreaming of a 2nd one, converted to a 2 door panel delivery van.

I like the PT enough that I will repaint it with 3 colours . Top silver , then a bright red band and the bottom part that nice blue , with pinstrips bordering/breaking up the silver and blue . The door handles will be in the red section .

Now , where did I put my masking tape ?

I am loving mine!, NOW!
I bought just recently, April 27, for my birthday. It had set at the dealership for almost five months, I found out.
A week ago the engine light came on and I had to limp home on the shoulder at 40mph about 7 miles, had it towed to dealership. They found the Cat conv and sensors were bad. They replaced them and paid for the tow with no charge to me. No more problem and it runs even better. I catch myself on the Interstate doing 80+. OOPS. It handles quite well on the back roads and the gas mileage is now steady at an average 24mpg. I have been told I could get better with Mid-grade fuel?
I have always had high performance cars but now having recently celebrating my 20th annual 40th birthday, I decided to downsize. But with all the Mods available I guess I'll never slow down.
I have owned a:
69 Ply GTX (426) yes the real HEMI
71 Pinto (302 V8)
78 Futura (351w)
86 Thunderbird Super Coupe (3.8 supercharged)
78 Pinto that I used the 3.8 in after being T-boned in the Bird.
96 Dodge ram (360 modified)
And of course my F4D Phantom (horse power classified)

Despite griping about the mileage and the fact that maintenance has cost almost twice the purchase price in less of a year of ownership, and that wide turns are frequently embarrassing, and frequent worrying about the weird little sounds and clunks...

I like him enough that I have a picture of him on my work desk, and every trip starts with a pat on his nose and "Hi baby", and ends with a pat on the front fender and "Bye sweetie".
