Auh OK!

Lets keep in mind it says "recommended" and not "required."
Now, imagine a world, where I don't stomp on the pedal everytime I want to go somewhere. Where 89-90 octane is high enough (even 87 would be fine) and when combined with my driving style; the engine does not knock while cruising around town. Also, turns out PT cruisers have knock sensors, so even with 87 octane, it would be a very very very very very very very very very very very very rare occurance. You end up an almost unnoticeable decrease in performance and acceleration by dropping to a lower octane.

Check this out: Let me google that for you

Your response is so bad I can't even begin to technically tear it apart.

Try getting a diagnostic OBDII scanner and drive around a day and observe things like timing, knock voltage,IAT, etc., and then come back and post?

Or how about you post a HD picture of one of your spark plugs?

And FYI almost all of those internet info you posted states if your engine does not require.... A suppose you want to argue/debate semantics of recommend and require when it comes to owners manuals or fuel door information?

BTW the human ear can not hear when engine knock first starts and most knock sensors like the one on 1 GEN PT Cruisers are limited in PCM information and timing adjustments. In other words only a slight amount of retard can be implemented in the timing which will reduce but in most case NOT illuminate pre- ignition with regards to this subject the use of a lower then recommended octane for the engine.

Hey its your PT do what and more importantly use what ever fuel you like. But PLEASE DON"T push you none factual opinions on other members disguise it as if you researched it having some fantasy fact.

Or be prepared with better responses about your use of the wrong octane with some scanned information from your personal PCM.

Took five minutes to find

The information may not be correct about the HP of the 06. Looking on the internet you will likely not find an *authorized Chrysler release specification of the 06 with that rating. This seems to be a wired following on PT Cruiser forums and internet information that is both vague and un-factual?
As far as I have found the *05 GT was the highest HP production PT.

All the camshaft specification from 200-2010 2.4 engines are the same NA or Turbo. There are many different part numbers but most are superseded or replacement reference stock numbers only.[/QUOTE]

Crewzin would be ashamed of you guys. Nobody has chimed in yet to talk about the timing belt and when it should be changed. If the 06 hasn't had it changed yet, its right on the cusp of needing it right?

Yuuuuuuup!.....Right out of the gate, add an additional $800(if your lucky!) to $1200+/-(rough estimate, could be higher/lower depending on locale.)

I guess I should say that I am sorry, My car is not stock. I tried running mid grade and the motor made all types of very bad noises when I hit the gas hard. (I wanted to see if it would) I am running Stage 2 injectors and A rescale tune. Not to mention 16lbs of boost. I forgot about that at the time I posted.
