Thanks for all you great "forumers" that replied to my original thread about the timing belt. All info is helpful. Well, my '05 just turned 80,000 so will start saving my $$$ to have the job done at about 90,000.

I replaced mine well after 160K. The only reason I did was b/c the tensioner went out. It was something I never thought about. The belt look fine when I pulled it off. A friend of mine just has his snap at 110K. Also, I didn't read all the posts so someone probably said this already...replace the water pump too.

My friends (one of whom is a Chrysler tech) never mentioned that little piece of advice to me. There I was a year later spending my Thanksgiving break taking apart all my hard work just to replace the stupid pump.

Mine belt went going 75 mph down the expressway 108,000 on it..... no problem with internals... now changing timing belt and water pump in the driveway was another story. Saved me a bunch of money....

My '05 Touring stripped the timing belt at about 98k miles. It is a pricey repair and I wish I had done it before it was absolutely necessary.
